Editor’s Picks: Polar Bear-friendly

It’s not even Thanksgiving, but we are already being bombarded with advertisements, jingles and retail displays that never let us forget the holiday season is upon us. Personally, my favorite part of the holiday advertising assault has to be the Coca-Cola T.V. ads. You know, the ones where animated polar bears turn the act of temporarily losing a bottle of soda into a heart-breaking tragedy. (Am I the only one who cries for days afterwards?)

Those polar bear ads are more troubling each year as we start to see the effects of global warming firsthand. Consequently, the world is responding by going green. We recycle, cut down on waste and use reusable water bottles. However, these eco-friendly acts don’t always make their way into the office. Show your clients that sustainability is more than just a trend. We’ve highlighted some ecological products that protect Mother Earth while still retaining functionality and style in the office. The polar bears will thank you (Coke bottles in hand).

Reduce, Reuse, Re-download
Computers can go green with All-In-One’s USB 2.0 Recycled Shell Drive. The external hard drive provides an easy way to transport files, presentations and that downloaded video of the Coca-Cola bears from place to place. Featuring a rubberized design, the USB shell is made from 100 percent recycled ABS plastic. The product is available in black or green.

Naturally Stylish
The Eco-Friendly Ballpoint Pen from Express Pens + is proof that going green doesn’t mean giving up style. Express Pens + offers a biodegradable pen that looks like your average plastic pen, but is made with corn starch and sugarcane. The black-ink pen is available in white with either black, blue, green or red trim.

Bound and Determined (to Go Green)
When people think of going green, coffee mugs and reusable water bottles often jump to mind. But with the Eco-Binder from General Loose Leaf, end-users can promote sustainability (and your client) everywhere from their desks to the conference room. Made of 100 percent recycled chipboard, the three-ring binder is laminated with ecological fibers paper that comes in multiple colors.
